Hello, my name is Myra De Roo and here is my story of how I started investing in real estate.
My first investment real estate property began in 2001 at Rocky Point's first condominium Regime at Princesa De Penasco. This project was the first of its kind in Sonora Mexico. It allowed Americans to purchase property in the restricted zone (properties less than 50 kilometres from the sea/coast) by providing a legal instrument called a "Fideicomiso" (Bank Trust). Mexico's change in ownership laws opened up opportunities for Americans like myself to own property within the restricted zone.
Since 2001, I have had the pleasure of owning several investment properties as well as my residence on Sandy Beach. My long tenure as a property investor/owner has given me valuable insight on government regulation, tax laws, as well as requirements for operating rentals in Mexico.
